New York, NY – On Tuesday, March 18, President of the Paladin Global Institute and former U.S. Acting National Cyber Director Kemba Walden participated in the 2025 Wall Street Journal’s Tech Live: Cybersecurity, where she sat down with Wall Street Journal News Editor Sara Castellanos for a one-on-one conversation about cybersecurity advocacy and policy. This event brought together the leading cybersecurity experts across a variety of sectors to discuss how to combat cybersecurity threats, mitigate cyber-attacks, and safeguard privacy. Shortly following the event, Inside Cybersecurity’s Jacob Livesay penned an article detailing Walden’s policy recommendations and her calls for cyber regulatory harmonization under the Trump Administration.
During her Wall Street Journal Live interview, Walden previewed the Paladin Global Institute’s new cybersecurity research and discussed the importance of renewing the Cybersecurity Information Act of 2015, forging strong public-private partnerships on cybersecurity, securing regulatory cybersecurity harmonization, and the use of safe and trusted AI by the private sector.
Speaking on Paladin Capital Group’s leadership role in protecting U.S. critical infrastructure from emerging cyber threats, Kemba Walden, said, “The founder of Paladin came to me with a novel idea. He said… if you believe that cybersecurity risk is an everybody problem, and that there are those that are better resourced to buy it down, you should consider coming to start [Paladin Global Institute] …to bring private capital into the tech policy space.”
In January 2024, Walden helped Paladin Capital Group launch the Paladin Global Institute to serve as a global convening force, building partnerships and stimulating research and advocacy while working to identify and mitigate cyber, AI, and deep tech risks. At its core, the Paladin Global Institute works to protect global critical infrastructure from cyber threats and enhance the safety of people online.
Walden also shared, “Keeping protections for info-sharing in place can help the government and the private sector continue working together to “be more proactive, more offensive, [and] have more active defense.” Kemba advised event attendees about the ways U.S. officials and businesses can create a safer, more productive cyber environment by working as a “collective.”
Walden joined hundreds of industry players and cybersecurity experts to debate and discuss the most pressing issues facing the global online ecosystem. Wall Street Journal Live regularly brings together business trailblazers and journalists for multi-day, invitation-only experiences attended by thousands to discuss the critical topics that are making headlines.
