WASHINGTON – Today, Paladin Capital Group Managing Partner and Founder Michael Steed joined the board of the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation. The Foundation, whose Board of Directors unanimously elected Steed aims to perpetuate President Kennedy’s ideals of democracy and freedom in young people all over the world. The foundation is the nonprofit partner and creative collaborator of the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, which is administered by the United States National Archives and Records Administration.
“At this important moment in America’s history, President Kennedy’s ideals, images and words instructing each of us to be participants in uplifting our country still endure,” said Steed. “I am deeply honored to join the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation’s Board. The courage shown during his presidency was a catalyst for American innovation and, as a board member, I will be a dedicated partner in preserving his incredible legacy.”
Since founding Paladin Capital Group in the wake of the 2001 terrorist attacks, Steed has invested in cyber innovations that protect the fundamentals of American society. The John F. Kennedy Library Foundation’s work aims to preserve democratic values in the face of growing challenges, including disinformation and other threats to democratic freedoms that often emanate from digital sources. Steed’s expertise in these issues as a cyber investor will help advance the foundation’s goals.
Prior to founding Paladin and working in financial services, Steed was the National Director of the Democratic Party of the United States of America (DNC). Steed also serves on the Board of Trustees of Loyola Marymount University, the Board of Visitors for Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy, the Board of Directors of Harvard University’s Belfer Center’s Defending Digital Democracy Project, the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI) and the Board of National Alliance to End Homelessness.
